INSCRIBED BY FARRELL on the front endpaper, "To Charles Zimmerman/ With fraternal regards/ Jim Farrell." Charles S. Zimmerman (1897 – 1979) was a social activist and long-time official of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union [ILGWU]. He and Farrell were both active in the radical labor movement and members of various socialist parties, including the Socialist Party of America. Farrell referred to Zimmerman as his “old friend and comrade.” 8vo light brick red boards stamped in black on spine; 288 pages. Very good to near fine with small rear of mild rubbing on spine and touch of faint staining to page edges; in very good dust jacket with spine somewhat toned, minor nicks to spine ends, and one unobtrusive tear. Scarce signed or inscribed.
