Precedes the poem's appearance in Strand's Pulitzer Prize-winning 1998 collection, BLIZZARD OF ONE (its original appearance was in the Times Literary Supplement). Designed and illustrated by Dean Bornstein at The Perpetua Press, May 1977. Approximately 13 x 9.25" off-white card stock; lettered in black, with gray illustration of seaside hotel in the rain with stand of Birches in foreground. Fine. Includes original stiff white mailer with Academy of American Poets label addressed to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Anthony Hecht and card from the Academy with printed signature of the poet and publisher, Jonathan Galassi, indicating the broadside was sent "with our appreciation for your generous support."
