Two prospectus letters from "The Book Service Company" soliciting sales of London editions of LETTERING OF TO-DAY and MODERN PUBLICITY 1937 - 1938; [we can find no evidence the company had the publisher's permission to distribute in New York].
[London: The Studio Limited], 1937. Two typographic letters dated "September, 1937" and "October, 1937" soliciting orders for LETTERING OF TO-DAY (C. G. Holme, editor) and MODERN PUBLICITY 1937 - 1938 both of which were published in hardcover in London by "The Studio Limited" (the latter was also published in New York in softcover by "The Studio Publications, Inc."). While it's possible The Book Service Company -- who published an Art Advertising annual for the Art Directors Club of New York -- had permission to distribute British editions of The Studio Publications' books, we can find no evidence of such. Each letter is printed on 8.5 x 11" antique-white "Old Chester" rag bond paper in black and red and includes an area at the bottom for placing an order. Fine.
