Number 808 of 850 numbered copies (the first 50 were printed on handmade paper). Volumes 8 & 9 in the publishers 31-volume “Pearls of Older Romance Prose” series edited by Floerke and A. Wesselski. 12mo parchment-backed paper-covered boards decorated in gilt and lettered in red and black on front covers and spines; top edges gilt; 425 pp. plus 10 illustrations inserted (vol. I) and 334 pp. plus 5 of the 6 called-for illustrations inserted (vol. II). Altogether good or better with bindings considerably worn but tight and interior pages, including plates, quite bright and nearly fine. While most of the illustrations are relatively tame, a few are less so.
