WHITE FANG.

New York: The MacMillan Company, 1906. First edition. With tipped-in title page dated 1906, as usually seen. 8vo blue-gray boards stamped in gilt on spine and white and black on front; title page on laid paper (vs. wove, no known priority); tissue-guarded color frontispiece and 7 color plates by Charles Livingston Bull; 327 pages plus 4 pp. ads. Very good with mild soiling, spine ends and corners lightly bumped and moderately rubbed, light offset to title page from tissue guard, and lower text block unevenly trimmed resulting in longer leaves appearing rough cut vs. smooth. Although not indicated as such in the book, this copy is from the collection of sportswriter Paul "Dr. Z" Zimmerman. Lacking the rare dust jacket. [Note on BAL 11896 -- given that the text on cancel and integral title pages is the same per Blanck, it seems likely to us that copies with cancel title pages precede those with integral ones].
