THE LOST ONES; [signed, limited edition].
(Stamford, CT): New Overbrook Press, 1984. First edition thus: Number 73 of 250 copies SIGNED BY BECKETT (beneath the colophon) AND KLABUNDE. The first and only publication of the New Overbrook Press, a reissue of Beckett's short story about a place "where lost bodies roam each searching for its lost one" that was first published in English with translation by Beckett in 1972. Certain alterations to the text were made at Beckett's request making this the "definitive version" per the publisher's prospectus, a copy of which is laid in. Folio unbound, folded sheets printed on mouldmade Rives BFK with Gills Sans typeface "designed by Eric Gill in 1927 to complement the signage still in use in the London Underground"; 36 pages. Illustrated with 7 fabulous intaglio prints, EACH ONE SIGNED AND NUMBERED BY KLABUNDE. Housed in gilt-lettered, tan cloth-covered clamshell box with circle design stamped in blind. The box is a little worn at corners, unevenly darkened, and somewhat soiled, therefore good only or perhaps a little better. Contents are quite fine.
