The fourth volume in the British comedic writer's war memoirs, this one spanning the landing in Salerno, Italy on Sept. 23, 1943 to his being wounded four months later. From the collection of sports writer Paul "Dr. Z" Zimmerman with his copious penciled notations on verso of rear free endpaper (few also on last page of text) and corresponding passages lightly marked in pencil in margins. Near fine with mild bumping to corners and subtle crease down spine; in near fine, price-clipped dust jacket with few small rubbed spots to edges.
