Though not designated as such, an apparent advance review or reading copy in presumed advance-state dust jacket. 8vo thin, red patterned paperwraps with unprinted spine; thin, white typed label on front with title & author only. In untrimmed and uncoated dust jacket that is 5 mm taller than those found on the published book and has "- 8 JUL 1974" stamped above and to the left of the "£2.50 net" printed price at bottom of front flap. Very good with splattered staining to top page edge and first quarter or so of text block rumpled at inner bottom corner; in good dust jacket with over-hanging upper edge softened and rubbed, green spine background toned to gray and red lettering nearly to white (still readable), lower spine corners nicked, faint ring on front panel, and mild horizontal crease from folding. To the best of our knowledge, a previously unrecorded state of this title. Scarce to rare.
