A VISION OF BATTLEMENTS; [Inscribed association copy].
New York: W. W. Norton & Co., (1965). First U.S. edition. INSCRIBED on title page: "with fond regards/ Anthony." Although not indicated as such in the book, this copy is from the collection of Walter Sullivan. Walter Sullivan (1924-2006) was an author, critic, longtime Vanderbilt University professor, authority on Southern literature and one of the founding members of The Fellowship of Southern Writers. Burgess participated in an April 1967 literary symposium at Vanderbilt, and presumably the book was inscribed for Sullivan around that time. Pinprick indentation mid-spine, otherwise fine in very good dust jacket with sunned spine, a few small closed tears to bottom of front cover, and tiny nicks to head of spine.
