TREMOR OF INTENT: an eschatological spy novel; [Inscribed association copy].
New York: W. W. Norton & Co., (1966). First U.S. edition. INSCRIBED on title page: "with fondest regards/ -- Anthony." Although not indicated as such in the book, this copy is from the collection of Walter Sullivan. Walter Sullivan (1924-2006) was an author, critic, longtime Vanderbilt University professor, authority on Southern literature and one of the founding members of The Fellowship of Southern Writers. Burgess participated in an April 1967 literary symposium at Vanderbilt, and presumably the book was inscribed for Sullivan around that time. Spine ends gently pushed, otherwise fine in very good or better dust jacket with small tear at bottom left of front cover, few rubbed spots on spine which is subtly toned, and nick to upper front corner.
