A NOTE ON THE PUBLICATION DATE: in a listing for the Grove Press 1982 re-issue, OCLC notes the "First Evergreen Edition" was published in 1956; and, as E-30 to E-32 (the last three titles in the list printed inside the rear cover) were all published in 1956, it seems highly likely this one was too. 8vo off-white paperwraps printed in black with "An Evergreen Book $1.00/ Published by Grove Press" on front and rear covers, blurb from a London Times review on rear cover, and no statement of additional printings on copyright page. Good or better with covers somewhat tanned and rubbed and small chips to upper corners and lower spine end. Increasingly scarce in the first printing.
