Walter Sullivan (1924-2006) studied under Lytle at the Iowa Writer’s Workshop before becoming an author, critic, longtime Vanderbilt University professor, authority on Southern literature, and -- along with Lytle -- one of the founding members of The Fellowship of Southern Writers. His wife, Jane Harrison Sullivan (1923-2022), taught English literature at Aquinas College. 8vo gilt-stamped gray cloth boards with blue blocking on spine; illustrated with reproductions of photographs and maps; 402 pages, including index.
