New York: Random House, (1938). First edition, limited issue. Number 44 of only 250 numbered copies SIGNED by Faulkner. Illustrated with drawings by Edward Shenton. Very good or better with spine mellowed from deep red to medium brown, edges a little rubbed and slightly toned, inner hinges darkened (due to offset from binding materials), and unobtrusive stains to lower page edges. Originally issued without a slipcase but this copy housed in supplied, cloth-covered and felt-lined one (fine). Lacking the clear acetate dust jacket, as often noted. Relatively scarce, perhaps due to the low limitation number.
