First edition of Jeffers' first book, one of only 500 copes which he paid to have published himself, Of the 500 printed, Jeffers kept 20 and sold the other 480 to a second-hand bookstore (reported by Ward Ritchie to be Holmes Book Store) for 20 cents a copy. Bound in stiff boards covered with cinnamon-colored paper, with tan buckram back strip and paper labels. Wove paper throughout. This copy lacking the spine label but otherwise very good or better with cover label present and covers and interior clean and unblemished. (A-13). Issued without a dust jacket.
