Illustrated with 23 tipped-in original printing specimens, including one folding one, and two pages of printer's devices (one for each Press). Printed letterpress by Andrew Hoyem in red and black on deckle-edged handmade creme-colored paper with Arion Press watermark. Folio gilt-stamped quarter green leather over mustard cloth boards patterned in green. Includes Harlan's preface, introductions by Sherwood Grover and Andrew Hoyem, various indexes (titles, authors, artists, etc.). Provenance: This copy from the library of Roger K. Larson with his Tom Killion-designed bookplate on front pastedown. Larson -- one of California's preeminent private collectors -- was a distinguished medical doctor and professor, Laureate of the American College of Physicians, and confidant of some of California's most respected book dealers and literary scholars.
