New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1933. First edition. INSCRIBED BY KENT on tipped-in leaf, "To my friend John J. Kozoy[?]/ with all good wishes, / Rockwell Kent / Asgaard, August 5, 1965." Kent’s own writings on art illustrated with over 130 black-and-white reproductions, including 90 full-page, and a full-color frontispiece. Followed by bibliography by Zigrosser which includes a list of paintings and prints. 4to blue-and-white pictorial cloth; salmon top edge stain; 64 pages of text interspersed with illustrations followed by around 86 unnumbered pages of illustrations, plus colophon with Kent's signature in facsimile. Very good or better with only light rubbing to spine ends; in fair to good dust jacket with extensive tape repair on verso, edges and folds quite nicked and rubbed, and several pieces missing from spine. Relatively scarce in the notoriously fragile dust jacket.
