FOUR POEMS AND A FRAGMENT; [Photocopy of Original Mimeograph].

No-place: no-publisher, (1936). Early photocopy of "copy number four" – one of the two copies initially sent to the Library of Congress by Sydney Alberts from a total of only 6 copies printed (numbered "one," “two,” “three,” "four," “three A” and “four A”) for distribution to the Jeffers (2 copies), Alberts (2 copies), and the Library of Congress (2 copies). [Bromfield A21a]. Ten 8.5 x 11” sheets printed on rectos only and stapled in upper left corner; includes copyright page (with LOC file number, etc., and date stamp “Jan 25 1936” in the copy), contents page, fly title page, 6 pages of poems, and colophon. Along with the photocopy are letters between Jeffers’ scholars Tim Hunt and Allen Mears discussing its likely source with Hunt surmising it may have been returned by the LOC to Alberts for his files – however it would appear that it instead made its way to Serendipity Books at the request of a former LOC rare books librarian (printout of LOC record noting such also included). Sheets are somewhat wrinkled with outer pages showing minor soiling otherwise very good to near fine. Unusual to find a copy of this particular publication in any form.
