COBWEBS FROM AN EMPTY SKULL.
London: George Routledge and Sons, 1874. First edition. His third book. Dark fairy tales collected from his appearances in the British periodical "Fun"; illustrated with satirical wood engravings by the Dalziel Brothers. It should be noted although Starrett (4) contends an 1873 paperback precedes this hardcover, BAL (1100) proved the paperback was actually not published until 1884. Publisher's decorative green cloth stamped and lettered in gilt & black. BAL doesn't mention green but Starrett lists it as one of three cloth colors. Faded ownership notation on front endpaper, minor shelf wear, still very good to near fine.
