THE TRAIL OF THE BARBARIANS; Being "L'Outrage des Barbares."
London: Longman, Green and Co., 1917. First edition. This relatively scarce pamphlet printing Ford's translation of Pierre Loti's work is heavily illustrated with photographs of the devastation to France by Germans during WW1. In his introduction, Ford says "today the tall wheat rises over that field behind Becourt Wood; for in France nothing is irreparable, since France possesses the secret of eternal life." Oval stain on front cover, otherwise very good in stapled paperwraps with a few creases to the covers.
