New York: Simon and Schuster, 1937. First edition of his first book. Basis for the musical of the same name. Good-only condition with gilt spine lettering just about perished and significant fading to cloth at spine and along upper edges. Pastedowns a bit darkened along hinges (from binding glue) and few small chips to fore edge of rear pastedown. Lacking the dust jacket, and with seemingly not much to recommend it at all -- except for it being a copy of the exceedingly scarce first edition.
