THE FUTILE ALIBI. Freeman Wills Crofts. THE FUTILE ALIBI.
New York: Dodd Mead, 1938. First U.S. edition. An Inspector French detective story. If it weren't for some spotting to the covers, the book would be about fine with only minor wear; in good, price-clipped dust jacket which is complete but worn around the edges and shows faint notation in ink on the spine (appears to be a name and date).

THE SCIENCE OF MODERN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION: In 30 volumes. Samuel Crowther, Irving Fisher Nelson Rockefeller. THE SCIENCE OF MODERN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION: In 30 volumes.
New York: P. F. Collier & Son, (1923). Presumed second edition of this set of 30 booklets, each on a different subject (oftentimes on more than one) and by various authors, including Rockefeller on "Human Relations" and Fisher on "The Currency." Each essay prefaced by brief contributor's biography. Slim, "leatherette"-styled green, stapled paperwraps lettered on front in white. Lettering flaking on several volumes though wholly legible with the exception of volume 15 ("Small Profits," "Keeping Check," and "Credit Service," by J. Ogden Armour, Robert Alexander Long, and H. Uehlinger, respectively). Otherwise overall in very good condition with tears to covers of volumes one and eight internally mended with archival tape. In serviceable slipcase with "cap," which serves as a table of contents, still present.

THE LIFE OF SIR JOHN FALSTAFF: Illustrated by George Cruikshank, with a Biography of the Knight, from Authentic Sources by Robert B. Brough, Esq. George Cruikshank, Robert B. Brough. THE LIFE OF SIR JOHN FALSTAFF: Illustrated by George Cruikshank, with a Biography of the Knight, from Authentic Sources by Robert B. Brough, Esq.
London: Longman, Brown, Green, Longmans, and Roberts. 1857--1858. First edition, in the original monthly parts: TEN OCTAVO PARTS IN PICTORIAL PAPERWRAPS, housed together in cloth chemise and leather top-loading slipcase. Each part with two full-page illustrated plates at front, twenty etched plates in all; and woodcut illustration after Cruikshank replicated on front of each wrapper. Original front covers, all but one with publisher's presentation blindstamp; lacking original rear covers (each with plain tan wrap at rear instead) and without the tissue guards between the plates. Each part appears to have been trimmed at top and bottom, Part X front cover darkened, else all are very good with only minor soiling to covers and with plates themselves near fine to fine. Housed together in green-cloth chemise and full leather, marbled-paper lined, top-loading double slipcase with 5 raised bands and gilt lettering on spine. Cohn 96. CRUIKSHANK'S LAST MAJOR BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS.

TOM, JERRY, AND LOGIC; Or, LIFE IN LONDON: A Musical Extravaganza, in Three Acts, Founded on Pierce Egan's Popular Work. George Cruikshank, Pierce Egan. TOM, JERRY, AND LOGIC; Or, LIFE IN LONDON: A Musical Extravaganza, in Three Acts, Founded on Pierce Egan's Popular Work.
Edinburgh: W. Sutherland. 1823. First edition. Twelve hand-colored plates by George and Robert Isaac Cruikshank. No attribution but someone has written above three dancing partners "George Cruikshank, Robert Cruikshank, P. Egan." Only record we could find of title was, " With coloured frontispiece of Mr. H. Johnston as Jerry. Second Edition." in a Magg's catalog from 1935 (Rare Book Hub). And for some reason the listing didn't mention the place of publication, but assume as Magg's it was London or would have been mentioned. This copy was owned by Albert M. Cohn with his bookplate. He wrote the Cruikshank Catalog Raissone published in 1926 and he has written on the front pastedown, "Of the greatest rarity have seen no other copy." Bound with flat leather spine and brown paper boards. Inner hinge paper cracked but still tight. Scattered foxing but not bad and the plates are relatively clean. RARE CRUIKSHANK & EGAN PRODUCTION.
