SO RED THE ROSE. Stark Young. SO RED THE ROSE.
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1934. First edition, second printing with Scribner's seal but no "A" on copyright page. BOLDLY SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper. This Southern Civil War novel--which is still in print--enjoyed success until it was overshadowed by "Gone With the Wind" later in the decade. Made into the 1935 film of the same name, directed by King Vidor. Red cloth spine subtly mottled, base of spine slightly frayed, otherwise very good, lacking the dust jacket.
