A WHITE HOUSE DIARY. Lady Bird Johnson. A WHITE HOUSE DIARY.
New York: Holt Rinehart & Winston, (1970). First edition. Front endpaper with SIGNED bookplate affixed at center and LBJ Library & Museum gold-foil emblem affixed to lower inside corner. The dust jacket is not priced and has the publication date code "1170" at bottom (not present on other jackets we've seen); is cream-colored versus the bright white usually seen; is slightly taller and not quite as wide; and is of better quality than others we've examined. The book itself is a full ounce heavier than other copies. We're not aware of a book-club edition of this title. The LBJ Library and Museum was not dedicated until May 1971--perhaps a special issue, or an early one, set aside for sale there? Fine in fine dust jacket. INTERESTING ANAMOLY OR EARLY ISSUE?

JOYCE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPH, PARIS, 1924. James Joyce. JOYCE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPH, PARIS, 1924.
[Circa 1980s]. Black-and-white photograph printed sometime in the 70's or 80's judging by the Kodak stamping to verso. Appears to be from the same shoot as a photo of Joyce and family located in the Archive Photos of Getty Images. In the Getty Images photo the family is hatless, the men have removed their coats, and father and son flank mother and daughter; whereas in this photo the family dons hats and coats and Nora Barnacle (Joyce's partner and future wife) is seated with her family behind her. A much more attractive photo in our opinion. Fine.
