CONRAD AND THE REPORTERS. Joseph Conrad, Christopher Morley. CONRAD AND THE REPORTERS.
Doubleday, Page, Garden City, 1923. First edition. Based on a series of articles by Morley originally published in The New York Evening Post about Conrad's arrival in New York. One of 815 copies issued for bookseller friends for 1924. INSCRIBED BY MORLEY to a fellow journalist: "To Allan Nevins / from Christopher Morley / Xmas 1923." Nevins was an American historian and journalist, renowned for his extensive work on the history of the Civil War and his biographies--of such figures as President Grover Cleveland, Hamilton Fish, Henry Ford, and John D. Near fine book in a good at best, tattered dust jacket which appears at first glance to be a plain unprinted green, but which is actually faintly stamped in gilt on front.
