INSCRIBED on title page, “For Jane & Walter -/ With great admiration/ and pleasure to/ visit your/ home again -/ Love,/ Jill/ 10/13/90.” Walter Sullivan (1924-2006) was an author, critic, longtime Vanderbilt University professor, authority on Southern literature and one of the founding members of The Fellowship of Southern Writers, to which McCorkle was elected for membership in 2003. His wife, Jane Harrison Sullivan (1923-2022), taught English literature at Aquinas College. Near fine with touch of tanning along top edge front cover and light rubbing to corners and spine folds.
