Housed in custom clamshell case with Nobel-citation quote on front TOGETHER WITH an INVITATION SIGNED BY MORRISON to a private reception in honor of her having been awarded the Nobel Prize (5.5 x 4.25” embossed heavy white cardstock printed on recto only; original, plain envelope included) AND PROGRAM SIGNED BY MORRISON for the corresponding event, "An Evening with Toni Morrison & Her Friends” held Tuesday, April 5, 1994, in New York's St. John Cathedral which was filled with thousands of orchids for the evening (Kathy Willems iconic AP photo of Morrison holding an orchid was taken during the event). The evening included performances and tributes by Harry Belafonte, Rosanne Cash, Peter Yarrow, Ruby Dee, Gordon Parks, et al, as well as Morrison reading selections from her works. Program is 4 pages including covers, measures 8.5 x 11” and is printed in purple on off-white paper with an orchid design on front by Sylvia Roth. The entire assemblage is altogether near fine.
