Eight pages, stapled. INSCRIBED ON FRONT COVER, "Dear Peg, Ernie - Translated from French into German into English. Will you undertake to put it back into French? Best, John Pauker 4/20/54." "ILL POEM" (December 1969), 2 pages, mimeographed, presumably issued as Christmas greeting to his friends: first page with the 4-line poem dated "(December 12, 1969)" preceded by his 4-paragraph prologue recounting the experience stemming from a Dec. 3, 1969, letter from the Chairman of The National Endowment for the Arts that led to the writing of the poem; second page is copy of Dec. 7, 1969, letter on Folger Shakespeare Library letterhead inviting him to participate in the 1970 inaugural season of the Folger Poetry Series. He did not. Both pages with creases from folding for mailing. Also includes (purchased separately for inclusion) 9 x 14" Folger Evening Poetry Series 1977/78 Broadside with a slightly different version of his "Ill Poem" titled "THE POET IN WASHINGTON" (fine condition).
