New York: Rinehart & Co., (1949). First edition of each volume. His second novel; the story of a group of patients and their battle against fear, disease and death. Both volumes are near fine to fine in very good to near fine dust jackets. One has a decidedly gray jacket, the other jacket has a pale violet hue. Royal Books has an advance reading copy in paperwraps online that appears to be of the same color as the second copy leading us to assume the violet jackets are either a first state or first issue.
