(New York): Dell, (1974). First edition of each of these three volumes, paperback originals. ALL THREE SIGNED BY SMITH ON TITLE PAGE, uncommon thus. Volumes 1, 3, and 4, respectively in Smith's 6-volume series featuring Francis Xavier Killy, lay brother of the Militia Christi working for the Holy Office of the Inquisition at the Vatican. From the back cover: "Heaven help those who cross the Inquisitor ... [he’s] unbound by vows of celibacy [and] a master of highly original deadly arts." Oh my. Some rubbing to spine ends and folds but otherwise all three volumes are nearly fine. Scarce signed.
