Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill Co., (1918). First edition, only printing. Variant binding and jacket, neither of which are described in Bruccoli-Layman [A6]. 8vo light bluish gray boards stamped in white; in dust jacket priced $1.25 with "LAUGH WITH LARDNER" on front in red and rest of text in black, as called for, but with border rule and picture on front and "War Savings Stamps" on spine in blue (vs. red); and, whereas Bruccoli-Layman describe the dust jacket as having mailing instructions on rear panel and front flap, this jacket has ad for GULLIBLE'S TRAVELS, ETC. on rear panel (black text, blue border rule) and both flaps are blank. As there was only one printing, we assume this may have been a remainder dust jacket and, possibly, binding. Minor wear to spine ends otherwise bright and fine in good to very good, lightly soiled dust jacket with a number of chips on edges not affecting any lettering and some old internal tape repair. A relatively scarce book that is exceedingly scarce in dust jacket.
