Los Angeles, CA: Grafton Publishing Co., 1912. First edition of Jeffers' first book, one of only 500 copes which he paid to have published himself. Of the 500 printed, Jeffers kept 20 and sold the other 480 to a second-hand bookstore (reported by Ward Ritchie to be Holmes Book Store) for 20 cents a copy. Bound in stiff boards covered with cinnamon-colored paper, with tan buckram back strip and paper labels. Wove paper throughout. The cloth spine is a little soiled and the spine label a little chipped on ends eliminating the 's' in "Apples." In addition there are two tape marks on front and back endpapers, otherwise good or better as issued without dust jacket.
