New York: Random House, 1937. First edition, limited issue. Number 33 of 300 copies SIGNED BY JEFFERS. Designed and printed at the Spiral Press. Title and cover decorations made from wood engravings by Fritz Eichenberg. Bound in quarter leather and patterned boards. Printed on hand-made Gelre paper. The book is in superb condition under the original glassine wrapper, which has several small chips at the top and is now rather opaque. The book's calf spine and decorated paper covers are clean and bright. The slipcase, covered in the same decorated paper as the book, is solid and whole with slight darkening on the edges and the slightly rubbing on corners. This copy has a tasteful bookplate of James Treat Parker on front pastedown.
