Collection of eleven poems reflecting the poet's pacifist philosophy, the last one written “in 1943 shortly after my induction into a camp for conscientious objectors here on the Oregon coast.” This version published November 1944 in an edition of 975 copies. Preceded by a mimeographed version lacking “War Elegy V.” Pale orange paperwraps printed in blue and black; approximately 6.25 x 9.5”. Covers sunned along spine fold, tanned along edges, and showing some scuffing and small stains; rear lower corner chipped. Still a good or better copy of this fragile production with interior nearly fine.
