Oblong (11.5 x 1.25”) sage gray suede flexible boards in green Japanese cotton-covered slipcase. THIS COPY WITH original numbered ownership slip issued from the press for the collector, Allen K. Mears, that was only available to early subscribers. ALSO INCLUDES an out-of-series copy of the separately bound commentary by the editor of Jeffers' collected works, Tim Hunt, "Nature, Narrative and Knowing: Jeffers and the Mode of Roan Stallion," SIGNED BY HUNT and numbered "OS" (included with the boxed edition but not this slipcased one); two copies of original prospectus, original invitation to the publication party held at Montgomery Gallery in San Francisco, and two unbound signatures from the book (title, frontispiece and copyright pages are in the first; last two pages of poem and colophon page in second). Entire assemblage in fine condition.
