(Nashville: Magnet Bound Press, 2017). First edition. SIGNED BY WEINTROB. Foreword by Jeff Coffin, introduction by Weintrob. A massive book featuring full-color photographs by Weintrob of musical artists at one with their instruments. Weintrob, who specializes in capturing musicians in the act for venues, festivals, ads and print publications, has shot over 5,000 artists in-concert or in his Brooklyn studio. But the INSTRUMENTHEAD series of photographs, begun nearly 20 years ago, is his personal art project aimed at "portraying [musicians] where their heads are really at." The photographs in the series feature famous and up-and-coming artists behind their instruments -- not to obscure their identities (although it is fun to guess who is in each shot) but to become one with their instruments which are held or suspended in front of their faces. The book features 369 of the over 500 artists he has shot so far. 225 pp. plus 16, printed in full color in Italy on three different types of fine art paper by Grafiche Antiga. Folio gold paper boards printed in white. Issued in three dust jackets: one with Bootsy Collins on front and the other two with either Vivian DeConcini or Ronkat Spearman. This copy with legendary funk artist Bootsy Collins and his bass guitar wearing a red leather cowboy hat and rhinestone sun glasses. Fine in fine dust jacket.
