ROBINSON JEFFERS' MEDEA [Playscript for the Robert Whitehead 1982 Revival]; Together with MEDEA: FREELY ADAPTED FROM THE 'MEDEA' OF EURIPIDES [1948 Samuel French acting edition],

(New York: Studio Duplicating Service), [1982]. First edition. Original version of the playscript mimeographed on white paper (Jean M. Shepard's Studio Duplicating Service printed later re-writes on various colored pages) and bound in gilt-stamped red leatherette covers with brass brads. This copy is numbered "18" at head of title page. Medea was Canadian-born producer Robert Whitehead's first play (1947-48). This 1982 revival at the Cort Theatre in New York starred his second wife, Zoe Caldwell, who won a Tony Award for best actress for her performance. Judith Anderson played the Nurse. Few pages of ephemera from Jeffers' collector Allen Mears laid in. Near fine. Rare.
