Former Spectator editor Hamilton writes the first full biography of the life of Hungarian-born writer Arthur Koestler, and his reputation, revolving around the themes of science and communism; and in each area his contribution has been controversial. A review copy with review slip and a small pamphlet by the Royal Academy of Arts, "A Meeting to Honour the Memory of Arthur and Cynthia Koestler, Thursday, April 1983." It includes five passages from the writings of Arthur which were read at the private funeral of Arthur and Cynthia, 11 March 1983. Also laid in this pamphlet is a sheet reprinting Arthur’s suicide note. The book is fine in dust jacket and the pamphlet in white printed wraps is also fine, 14 pages plus card cover, 6 x 8 ¼ "
