Philadelphia: Universal Book and Bible House, (1945). Salesman's Dummy for the first edition of the Armed Services Memorial Edition. The eventual book included 966 pages covering the "complete panorama of the greatest struggle in human history" illustrated with official photographs, maps, records and documents, and included a color plate frontis of Iwo Jima, 1945, the iconic image of the war. This Salesman's Dummy has two "Service Record" pages, a contents page (listing 100 chapters), statements of National leaders, 10 pages of text and 90 photos (on 32 pages). Thin octavo blue cloth, plain spine, gilt-stamped boards, with example of spine on rear board. Slim lines of fading near bottom of spine extending to rear board otherwise fine with only the barest wear. Scarce. SALESMAN'S DUMMY.
