Bound by Baynton in straight grain red morocco with raised gilt-stamped spine bands and compartments with gilt-lettering and rule as well as four ornaments of a sporting motif -- fox, boxing gloves, hound and horse; covers with gilt rule and corner ornaments of the same four figures; elaborately ornamented inner dentelles; all edges gilt. Minor scuffing to boards, tiniest pin pricks to frontis, occasional smattering of foxing, and the barest evidence of a few expert repairs; still, near fine. Housed in an ingenious cloth-covered slipcase with finger-hole through which to push an internal flap and nudge the book from the case.
