London: Macmillan, 1866. First edition to be regularly published, though technically the second edition. The exceedingly rare 1865 first edition was suppressed, and only a little over 20 copies are extant. Spine features five raised bands, gilt center stamps and gilt-lettered onlaid green leather labels. Housed in red linen clamshell case lined in red velvet with rounded red leather spine mimicking the book's in design. Binding and case by Patricia & George Sargent of Dragonfly Bindery. Frontis tissue darkened, scattered light foxing throughout; otherwise text block is very good condition. Binding and clamshell case are fine. FIRST REGULARLY PUBLISHED EDITION FINELY BOUND.
