London: Chapman & Hall, 1952, 1955, 1961. First editions. The three original volumes in Waugh's trilogy based on his wartime experiences in Crete and Yugoslavia while serving in the Royal Marines. All the books are near fine with the barest wear but all have foxing on end papers, pastedowns and front edges and a few scattered spots on bottom edges. The top edges are all colored so the foxing there is not very apparent. But all the dust jackets have foxing on edges of back covers inner flap edges and on versos. A shame about the foxing as there is very little wear on either the books or the jackets. Waugh considered this trilogy one of his better works.***PLEASE INQUIRE BEFORE PURCHASE.
