London: Chatto & Windus, 1935. First edition in English. Translated from the German by Basil Creighton. Includes final chapter not in first U.S. edition which didn't appear until 1971. The second in his "Jungle" or "Mahogany" series depicting the political corruption under the reign of Porfirio Diaz in Mexico [Treverton 662]. Small 8vo light red cloth boards, gilt-stamped spine, top edge dark red. Very nearly fine in very good to near fine dust jacket with internal tape repair (all but one archival) to a few tears and spine somewhat tanned. A scarce book, especially so in the original jacket.
