THE CASE OF CHARLES DEXTER WARD: A Novel (of Terror).

London: Victor Gollancz, 1951. First edition thus: the first separate edition. A posthumously published short novel set in Lovecraft's hometown of Providence, RI. Though written in early 1927, it didn't appear in print until 1941 in an abridged form (Weird Tales, May & July). The complete version was collected in BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP (Arkham House, 1943). Some scattered foxing to page edges extending very slightly to pages and a little darkening to endpapers from the binding otherwise near fine in very good or better price-clipped dust jacket mellowed to light tan on spine and flap folds with some light foxing along front panel edges but otherwise only light wear.
