Set in Lovecraft's hometown of Providence, Rhode Island, it was first published (in abridged form) in the May and July issues of Weird Tales in 1941; the first complete publication was in Arkham House's Beyond the Wall of Sleep collection (1943). This if the first separate edition. Red cloth is fine with minor foxing on page edges and age toning on end papers, otherwise, binding strong, corners sharpe, crisp and bright lettering on spine. Price clipped dust jacket has age toned spine, and minor rubbing to edges,and slight foxing on front edge folds, apart from that, still very good with bright words.***PLEASE INQUIRE BEFORE PURCHASE.
