New York: A. L. Burt, . An early reprint edition of the author's first book. Issued from the plates of the McClurg 1914 first edition with its copyright page but with a new title page and frontis based on the original McClurg title page. Near fine with only the barest wear to green cloth boards. The cover is lettered in black and there are no lines on the cover; in dust jacket with some minor edge wear and a few chips at spine ends. A very nice copy. Robert Zeuschner calls for the Burt first printing to be lettered in white and to have embossed lines on cover--this copy doesn't but it does have ads for only Harold Bell Wright titles in the back, and the latest one advertised is a 1914 Wright title. We assume there would have been other Tarzan titles or other later Wright books advertised if this were published much later than 1914. AN EARLY REPRINT ISSUED FROM THE PLATES OF THE FIRST.
