A MOOD APART.

[Durham, NC]: Duke University, 1945. First edition. The first appearance of this poem which was later collected in STEEPLE BUSH (1947). An UNRECORDED BROADSIDE, measuring approximately 7 x 10", with a photo of Frost in the Rare Book Room of the University Library centered at top and the poem printed beneath ( " . . . For any eye is an evil eye / That looks in onto a mood apart"). Flattened creasing where previously folded into quarters, two small pieces of archival tape on verso where tiny tear at intersection of creases, otherwise near fine. Together with "Library Notes," a bulletin issued for the "Friends of Duke University Library." Single sheet folded to make 4 pages; similarly creased where previously folded. The bulletin details Frost's visit to the library and the circumstances under which the library published the broadside: "For the guest-book of the Rare Book Room, Mr. Frost wrote out a valued contribution, a poem not yet published. We have obtained Mr. Frost's permission to print this poem, and it appears beneath the photograph." Rare. UNRECORDED BROADSIDE.
