PRANCING NIGGER.

New York: Brentano's, (1924). First edition. Firbank's first book published in the U.S. and the true first edition. It is believed that there were only 300 copies. Based on a letter from Carl Van Vechten (who wrote the introduction) to Firbank. This copy is from the library of Ralph Block. Several leaves roughly opened, bookshop sticker on rear pastedown, gilt on spine is dull but legible and page edges have a touch of foxing, otherwise very good or better in soiled dust jacket with chipping (only affecting a few letters in the title on spine), some closed tears and a small hole in the spine (not affecting any lettering). Scarce in dust jacket.
