Very good to near fine with touch of rumpling to spine and few tiny spots to cloth; in dust jacket with tiny hole to front spine fold, foxing to flap folds, and minor wear to spine ends but otherwise bright and near fine.

White's first book, "parodies of a certain kind of 'culture-made-easy'" per White, collected from essays run by The New Yorker to boost circulation. (The message of each amusing essays is that reading the New Yorker puts one on the road to wealth and social success.) An unknown number of these books were produced by the advertising department at the magazine and sent to agents and customers. The OCLC locates only 6 copies, so there can't have been many produced. Illustrated with photographs of store manikins White found in a department store and posed himself. Octavo batik-style paper boards; green cloth spine; light mustard-green label printed in black on front, Corners of boards rubbed, front hinge paper beginning to split, otherwise very good to near fine. Housed in custom, green cloth clamshell case. "THERE IS A WEEKLY MAGAZINE CALLED THE NEW YORKER THAT "BRIGHT PEOPLE READ REGULARLY..."
