NAKED IN GARDEN HILLS. Harry Crews. NAKED IN GARDEN HILLS.
New York: Wm. Morrow & Co. 1969. First edition of his second book. INSCRIBED, "To Dr. King, All best to you and yours. Harry Crews." In the light-green simulated cloth boards (versus medium to dark-green cloth boards), no known priority. [We had assumed the simulated cloth binding was a later state since not as nice, but several citings of simulated cloth boards in first-issue dustwrappers have left us uncertain]. In the first-issue dustwrapper with reviews of GOSPEL SINGER. Very minor rubbing to corners, otherwise about fine in dust jacket with the barest wear.

NAKED IN GARDEN HILLS. Harry Crews. NAKED IN GARDEN HILLS.
New York: William Morrow & Co. 1969. First edition of his second book. INSCRIBED to director Paul Bartel, "Paul, take care--read in good health. Harry Crews / March 23 '80 / Gainesville, Fla." Bartel is best known for cult classics "Eating Raoul" and "Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills." This copy in light-green simulated cloth boards. The book was also issued in medium to dark-green cloth boards. No known priority. [We had assumed the simulated cloth binding was a later state because it is not as nice, but several citings of simulated cloth boards in first-issue dust jackets casts doubt on that assumption.] In the first-issue dustwrapper with reviews of GOSPEL SINGER. One corner just barely bumped, short split to front inner hinge paper, otherwise about fine in fine dust jacket with the barest wear.
