Brown, trapped on the most remote island of the Galapagos, has the odds against him. A precursor to Forester's Hornblower novels of the sea. Narrow offset on endpapers, otherwise very good to fine in dust jacket with wear on corners and spine ends, tiny hole at bottom of front panel, and tape reinforcement to verso of spine ends.

(Lemon Grove, Calif): John Forester, (2000). First edition. A biography written by his son. Number 103 of 250 SIGNED copies. Two volumes, each SIGNED and numbered and each INSCRIBED, "For --- with best wishes. John Forester." Two large 8vo volumes in glossy pictorial paperwraps. 826 pages including index. Although the stated limitation is 250 copies, it's possible that not all of these self-published volumes were produced or sold. We've never handled a copy before, and were not aware of the book's existence. Light wear on corners, a light spot on page edges and a triangular spot on top. Scarce.
