Cross country trip in the mid-1920s narrated by Dudley's nephew, The Kid, who recalls how his uncle recruits a group of seven passengers traveling east and uses their deposits to purchase a rattletrap car. Along the way, they deal with mechanical breakdowns, inclement weather, and unfriendly local law enforcement. Very good to near fine with front bottom corners creased and normal darkening near inner hinges; in a bright, very good or better dust jacket with minor chipping on corners and spine ends and a few faint stains on verso of spine which barely show through.
